The d&b V12 is a passive 3-way loudspeaker housing two 10" LF drivers (low frequencies), one horn-loaded 8" MF driver (mid frequencies), and two 1.4" exit HF compression drivers (high frequencies) with 2.5" voice coils mounted to a dedicated wave-shaping device. The symmetrical dipolar arrangement of the neodymium LF drivers around the centrally mounted coaxial MF and HF components provides a smooth crossover overlap between adjacent frequency bands. This results in an exceptional nominal horizontal dispersion control of 120° (constant directivity), maintained down to 250 Hz. Its mechanical and acoustic design enables flown vertical arrays of up to twenty-four loudspeakers. It can be deployed in standalone V12 columns or combined with d&b V8s and/or d&b V-SUBs. The d&b V12 cabinet is constructed from marine plywood and coated with an impact- and weather-protected PCP (Polyurea Cabinet Protection) finish. The front of the cabinet is protected by a rigid metal grille backed by an acoustically transparent foam. Each side panel features a handle, with two additional integrated handles provided at the bottom rear of the enclosure.
